Export to the Eurasian Union
What certifications do you need? Brachi and IC Trade offer businesses an all-inclusive support
All brands that want to export their products to the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan must produce a complex documentation. Since 2013, Eurasian Customs Union Technical Regulations replaced the GOST standard previously in force in each of the member countries.
This documentation includes two alternative certification forms: the EAC Certificate of Conformity and the EAC Declaration of Compliance. One or the other is required depending on the type of product and the age of consumers.
Products concerned are those of the so-called Light Industry, and they include textiles, clothing, leather goods, footwear, fur, coatings and carpets.
For clothing intended for infants and children under 1 year - skin-contact garments, in particular - a State Registration may be necessary. In order to obtain this third certification, companies must undergo an extremely strict procedure by a public body. Certificates of Conformity and Declarations of Compliance, on the contrary, are issued by licensed private companies such as the certification bodies.
In order to obtain the above mentioned documents - and consequently the permission to export to Eurasian Union - all brands must respect two key conditions:
- the indication by the Russian certification body the quality requirements which every single item must comply with and whose livelihoods must be evidenced by appropriate laboratory tests;
- the presence of a legal representative (applicant) in the Union's territories.
Brachi and IC Trade work together on the Russian market to offer companies a comprehensive support which includes:
- the risk analysis of collections;
- the definition of requirements for each product category;
- the conduct of tests aimed at obtaining the required documentation.
